Your data stays yours

Privacy Policy

Unsweet is designed as a private, on-device habit companion. No account is required, and your streak, cravings, and personal journey are not sent to us.

Effective July 24, 2026

In short: Unsweet does not require an account, does not use advertising or analytics SDKs, does not track you, and does not sell or share personal data for targeted advertising. App activity is stored locally on your device.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Unsweet ("Unsweet," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Unsweet iOS application or contact us for support.

Unsweet is a habit-support tool for reducing or quitting added sugar. It is not a medical service, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional medical advice.

2. Information stored on your device

Unsweet stores the information needed to provide its features locally on your device. This may include:

  • Journey dataYour current streak, best streak, check-in dates, total days, chapter history, and milestone feedback.
  • Craving entriesIntensity, triggers, responses, and entry dates that you choose to record.
  • PreferencesYour challenge mode, reminder status and time, onboarding status, and other app settings.
  • Purchase statusWhether premium features have been unlocked or restored on the device.

This information may relate to your health or lifestyle, but it is not transmitted to or collected by us. Depending on your Apple device and backup settings, local app data may be included in an encrypted device or iCloud backup managed by Apple.

3. Information we collect

Unsweet does not collect app activity, identifiers, location, contacts, photos, advertising data, or diagnostic analytics through the app. We do not operate user accounts or receive your on-device journey data.

If you email us for support, we receive the email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to provide. We use that information only to respond, troubleshoot, protect the service, and maintain necessary support records. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, or sensitive health information.

4. Notifications

If you enable reminders, Unsweet requests notification permission and schedules a daily reminder locally through iOS. We do not receive a remote push token or a record of whether you opened a notification. You can change the reminder time in Unsweet and manage permission in iOS Settings.

5. App Store purchases

Purchases and restorations are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple may provide transaction identifiers and entitlement information needed to complete or restore a purchase. We do not receive your full payment card information or Apple ID password. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's privacy policy and App Store terms.

6. Sharing, selling, and tracking

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Information you voluntarily send to support may be processed by service providers that help us operate email and respond to requests. They may use that information only to provide services to us or as required by law. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect rights and safety, or prevent fraud and abuse.

7. Retention, deletion, and your choices

On-device information remains on your device until you remove it, erase the device, or delete the app. Deleting Unsweet generally removes its local data, subject to any device or iCloud backups controlled by Apple.

Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer your request, maintain support records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete personal information contained in support correspondence by emailing hello@unsweet.app. We may need to retain limited information where required by law.

8. Children's privacy

Unsweet is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

9. Security

Keeping journey data on your device limits transmission and reduces exposure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and Apple account. No storage or communication method is completely secure, but we use reasonable administrative and technical measures for any information you voluntarily send to us.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Unsweet, legal requirements, or our practices. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when changes are made. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or its App Store listing where appropriate.
